SPRING TERM 2019 - starts Monday 14th Jan
7.00-8.30pm at The Painswick Centre. This term we will be working on a range of lovely songs as usual, including two 'big' songs which we will perform at the Bristol Choir Convention on Sunday 17th March 2019. It's been a few years since members of Painswick Community Choir attended the Bristol 'Big Sing' Choir Convention and we are really looking forward to it. We will be joining in with Sophie's other community choir, Corinium Community Choir based in Cirencester, as we did last time. Bringing our voices together in harmony is always a fun experiences for us, as is the whole Bristol community choir event. Painswick Community Choir & Painswick Community Library are linking up - 13th October 2018 - 11am10/10/2018 We are linking up on Saturday 13th October for “Sing in the Library”, as part of the nationwide Libraries Week, which runs from October 8th to 13th. The Choir will sing from 11am - 11.30am. All welcome!
This year, with a focus on wellbeing, libraries across the country will showcase how they bring communities together, combat loneliness, provide a space for reading and creativity and support people with their mental health. Singing together is well documented as a great way to increase wellbeing, whether by participating or simply listening and watching. Painswick Community Choir is a vibrant and fun world music choir, led by Sophie Sterckx and they sing unaccompanied songs from around the world in 3 and 4 part harmonies. Libraries Week is the annual showcase of the best that UK libraries of all kinds have to offer, encouraging everyone to discover their library on the second week of October. Thank you so much to everyone who came to listen to us sing on Painswick Goodwill Evening 2017!! What a fabulous turnout! And huge thanks to Denise and all at the Church in Painswick for being so welcoming to the Choir and the full capacity audience. Seasons Greetings and Happy to New Year to you all.
