About the Choir
We meet on Monday evenings in The Painswick Centre at 7pm and sing until 8.30pm. We are directed by Sophie Sterckx - a local singing leader/singer/composer who leads various choirs, performs and teaches in the area. Currently we have six basses, four tenors, six altos and eight sopranos. We would love to have a few more enthusiastic people join us. No auditions are necessary, nor is the ability to read music necessary. We are encouraged to learn by ear, sing a capella (without accompaniment) and we pick up a new song fairly quickly. You are welcome to come along and try us out before you decide whether to join or not.

Painswick Community Choir was founded by Adrian Brett in 2010. In Sept 2011, Sophie took over leading the Choir. Many of it's original members are still singing with the Choir and many more new members have joined since. With the current number of Choir members around 22 singers, there is still room for more…
